| Ashland Precision Tooling, LLC makes a wide variety of tooling and parts utilizing cast polymers.
Historically, Ashland Precision Tooling, LLC made only tooling and parts out of metal. There are applications however, where the use of a tough, highly abrasive resistant, non-marring material is a better choice than metal.
For those applications, a whole family of cast polymer material has been developed. Many of these parts are a hybrid of a metal insert surrounded by polymer. In most cases however, the polymer part is an individual, the design taking advantage of its properties. These can include transparency, inherent toughness, and the ability to take on any shape.
The initial cost for cast polymer is low. Ashland Precision Tooling, LLC has the ability to use CAD drawings, blue prints or actual finished parts to make the initial molds used to cast the parts.
Cast parts can be made out of a varirty of polymers of different hardness, flexural modulus, tensile strengths, and even color.
